Cisco and Nutanix have collaborated to create a seamless integration that allows for the complete installation of a software stack remotely and with automation. This collaboration enables technicians to connect power cables to servers at an installation site while all configuration, patching, and deployment can be done remotely. Additionally, the flexibility of Nutanix’s architecture allows for the building of clusters that can scale from one or two nodes to large data center spaces.

In the AI space, Cisco has developed a validated design to implement Nutanix GPT-in-a-Box within the Cisco Compute Hyperconverged with Nutanix package. GPT-in-a-Box is a turnkey package that simplifies the adoption of generative AI capabilities for enterprises, providing an AI-ready infrastructure stack for deploying, running, and tuning large language models (LLMs) and other AI workloads on-premises or at the edge.

According to Ketan Shah, vice president of product management at Nutanix, implementing AI-ready infrastructure can be complex and costly. GPT-in-a-Box offers customers a complete stack with verified and repeatable results, making it easier for organizations to deploy AI models such as llama and Falcon. The integration of Intersight’s AI and integration suite is crucial for enterprise customers looking to simplify the complexity of managing and deploying new applications.

Analysts believe that both standalone Intersight and GPT-in-a-Box are significant for enterprise IT as they streamline deployment and provisioning tasks, which can be overwhelming for IT organizations. Matt Kimball, vice president and principal analyst at Moor Insights & Strategy, emphasized the importance of removing friction and simplifying processes for IT teams, noting that Intersight and Nutanix Prism help in achieving this goal.
