* September 22, 2022 – Optus is hit by a massive cyber attack that affects almost 10 million customers, compromising dates of birth, phone numbers and passport and licence details
* September 23, 2022 – Optus contacts affected customers more than 24 hours after alerting the media
* September 27, 2022 – A hacker group releases the sensitive details of 10,000 Optus customers after the telco refuses to pay a $1.5 million ransom
* April 21, 2023 – Victims sue Optus, seeking compensation for financial losses and distress
* November 8, 2023 – Optus customers are hit by a nationwide outage that runs for 12 hours
* November 9, 2023 – Customers are offered extra data including 200GB or unlimited data on weekends to thank them for their “patience and loyalty”
* November 17, 2023 – Optus chief Kelly Bayer Rosmarin is grilled by senators at an inquiry into the telco’s responses to the outage
* November 20, 2023 – Ms Bayer Rosmarin resigns from Optus, effective immediately. Chief financial officer Michael Venter steps in as interim chief executive
