Many fans gathered at Oracle Park in San Francisco to honor and celebrate Baseball Hall of Famer and Giants legend Willie Mays who passed away at the age of 93 on June 18. Fans from across the region, and even from Chicago, attended the event. They shared memories of watching Mays play and paid their respects to him and the community. The San Francisco Giants organized a celebration with Mays’ close friends and family attending, including his godson Barry Bonds, MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred, and his son Michael Mays. To offer their condolences, fans who were unable to attend were encouraged to make a donation to the Say Hey Foundation or post a digital tribute on the Giants’ website.
