Renaissance Learning, a global leader in K-12 educational technology, successfully migrated its DNAYour assessment solution from Google Cloud Platform to Amazon Web Services. This migration improved performance, scalability, and security while reducing cloud spending by 30 percent. Led by Engineering Director Sebastian Gunn-Hamner, the DnA engineering team collaborated with AWS to create a reference architecture and explore modernization opportunities. Through hands-on Experience-Based Acceleration (EBA) in mid-July, the team migrated the core application and databases from GCP to AWS in three days. The team’s efforts resulted in 30 percent cloud savings, simplified deployment processes, and performance improvements for online testing applications. Renaissance Learning’s DnA engineering team is now leveraging AWS for future innovation and modernization initiatives to enhance learning outcomes for K-12 customers.
