During his visit, Chey met with Amazon CEO Andy Jassy to explore opportunities for cooperation in the AI chip sector, as Amazon has recently unveiled its own AI chips, Trainium and Inferentia. SK Group’s flagship company, SK Hynix, is a key player in the HBM market, with Amazon being one of its customers for high-bandwidth memory.
Additionally, Chey also held talks with Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger to celebrate their companies’ longstanding partnership and discuss future collaborations in the AI chip sector.
