Hewlett Packard Enterprise has filed a $14 billion acquisition of Juniper Networks with the European Commission, who has until August 1 to decide whether to approve the agreement. The UK Competition and Markets Authority has also launched an investigation into the deal, with a decision expected by August 14. Juniper shareholders have already approved the deal, which values the networking company at $14 billion. The deal is unlikely to require approval in China due to its size. Juniper has stated that the merger with HP Enterprise is expected to close by the end of 2024 or early 2025, pending regulatory approvals.
