The FIA announced a new partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS), but the key point that came up is the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to design new F1 cars.
AWS has been a partner of F1 for some time; now it has inked a deal with the FIA as a global partner. It is now the ‘Official Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, Machine Learning and Cloud Infrastructure’ partner of the governing body.
It is also the ‘Official Partner of the FIA Awards and the FIA Sustainable Innovation Series’. As part of the deal, the governing body will use AWS’s technology to drive innovation and participation in motor racing.
But the key part of the partnership is the use of AI to shape the new technical regulations for the next generation of F1 cars. Not just that, it will also help in the development of single-seater cars at large.
