Google Agent Compute Engine: 1 microVM Per Agent [2026]

Google Cloud announced Agent Compute Engine on 22 October 2026, a new service that gives every AI agent its own hardware-isolated microVM. It is not generally available yet, and Google has published no price, no version number and no list of regions. For Australian teams building agents on Gemini or on their own models, the announcement matters because it turns the plumbing behind Google’s own Gemini agent into something customers will eventually rent.
