Vodacom, AWS and Joburg uni partner on AI student hackathon
Vodacom South Africa, the University of Johannesburg (UJ) and Amazon Web Services (AWS) are organising the AI for Africa Hackathon Challenge. The event tasked UJ students with creating AI-driven solutions for critical societal challenges, including healthcare, maternal welfare, public safety, youth employment, and water security. The hackathon marks the first effort in the collaboration, which was launched in July by the three partners to support AI and data science talent in South Africa.
