IBM IBM, the hybrid-cloud and enterprise-AI company, introduced a standardized SAP modernization service for midsize businesses, while shares slipped about 0.4% to $219.73 at approximately 11:24 a.m. ET on October 8. The pitch is practical: connect business data, simplify operations and give customers a foundation for AI. Investors still need evidence that those projects can lift IBM’s earnings.
The strongest proof point comes from Volumetric Building Companies. IBM reported that the construction company halved purchasing, manufacturing and inventory cycle times following a three-month SAP Cloud ERP rollout. Second Nature Brands used the service to bring its acquired Voortman Bakery business onto a common platform. Those are concrete customer outcomes, although availability remains restricted to selected countries and industries.
