Cisco Systems CSCO, the networking, security and collaboration provider, unveiled AI upgrades designed to keep Webex working after meetings and customer calls end, while shares traded down roughly 0.7% at $116.57 around 11:22 a.m. ET on October 8. The pitch is simple: fewer abandoned tasks, more completed work. Cisco wants its collaboration software to handle the follow-through that usually lands back on employees.
According to Cisco, its new Dialog framework allows agents to pursue unresolved customer issues across people and business systems after a conversation finishes. Customer history carries across channels, reducing the need to start from scratch each time. Cisco also announced native Google Meet support for its collaboration devices, with RoomOS 27 scheduled for November. That broadens the hardware’s appeal to companies using several meeting platforms.
