Four months ago at InfoComm, Cisco was talking up its deal to run Zoom Rooms natively on its collaboration devices. At WebexOne 2026 in Austin, it closed the set. Through a new partnership with Google, Cisco hardware will run fully featured Google Meet alongside Webex, Microsoft Teams and Zoom. The new support arrives as part of RoomOS 27, the next version of the operating system behind its room and desk devices, due in November.
Espen Løberg, VP and GM of Collaboration Devices at Cisco, tells UC Today that RoomOS 27 focuses on three areas: expanding edge AI inferencing, opening up the ecosystem further, and adding more advanced manageability and assurance. He frames the release around a larger ambition for the platform.
The workplace needs a trusted operating system, and RoomOS is that operating system.
