American tech giant Cisco Systems is expanding its presence in Japan to assist the government and businesses in enhancing their cybersecurity defenses against hackers. CEO Chuck Robbins sees Japan as a key battleground in the fight against cyberattacks, with a focus on cybersecurity, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and technology. In response to the rising threat of sophisticated hacker attacks in Japan, Cisco is opening a cybersecurity center in Tokyo to aid in strengthening the country’s defenses. The center will provide expert advice to the government on cybersecurity measures and support Japanese companies in enhancing their security measures. Robbins emphasized the importance of the US-Japan relationship and Cisco’s commitment to helping Japan improve its cybersecurity capabilities, as only 2% of Japanese companies are adequately protected against cyber threats.
