Melius Research upgraded Microsoft stock to Buy on Monday, setting a $665 price target, as the firm argued the company’s software portfolio and cybersecurity business make it a compelling option for investors seeking lower-risk exposure to artificial intelligence, according to MarketWatch.
Ben Reitzes, the Melius Research analyst behind the call, wrote that Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and his leadership team will be viewed as the “adults in charge” as the dominant narrative around AI shifts toward safety concerns, according to MarketWatch. Reitzes noted that warnings from Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei and others about the potential dangers of AI have prompted investors to rethink how they approach the sector.
