NVIDIA RTX Gets Shader Delivery After AMD 96% Cut

Microsoft is rolling out Advanced Shader Delivery (ASD) to every NVIDIA GeForce RTX GPU this month, extending a feature that until now only worked on AMD’s RDNA graphics cards. The DirectX team confirmed the expansion in an October 1, 2026 blog post, writing that it is extending ASD “to additional Windows devices powered by Intel, NVIDIA, and Qualcomm.” VideoCardz picked up the story a day later, reporting that Microsoft’s updated hardware list now includes all NVIDIA RTX GPUs and the newer NVIDIA RTX Spark chip.

The move matters because shader compilation stutter has frustrated PC gamers for years, especially at first launch and after driver updates. Advanced shader delivery tries to fix that by shipping precompiled, GPU-specific shaders with the game itself rather than making a player’s CPU build them on the spot.
