Nvidia, the AI-accelerator and computing-platform leader NVDA, faced tougher questions about its $500 billion infrastructure-financing push as shares rose 0.72% to $228.38 at approximately 12.10 a.m. ET Thursday in delayed premarket trading. The sticking point is simple: how much will today’s expensive chips be worth when lenders need their money back? Strong demand alone cannot settle that question.
Nvidia says independent financiers will assess customer quality, utilization, cash flow and equipment values project by project. It may provide residual-value support for up to 25% of selected opportunities. According to Reuters, credit investors said banks commonly depreciate GPUs over three to four years, while Nvidia argues its leading systems can keep earning money much longer. That gap matters. Lower collateral values could mean more equity upfront, tighter lending terms or higher borrowing costs.
The $500 billion is a capital-mobilization target over time, rather than booked chip sales or a fully funded pool of cash. Nvidia’s GF Score of 96/100 highlights strong profitability and growth, while the weaker GF Value reading suggests valuation deserves closer attention. Investors now need to watch financing close, not just partnerships multiply. Exceptional chip demand can coexist with cautious lendersand broader guarantees could leave Nvidia carrying more of the risk.
