Broadcom (NASDAQ:AVGO), the custom-silicon and networking company, edged up approximately 0.1% to $355.60 at around 10:05 a.m. ET Wednesday, with a new patent complaint adding uncertainty to its AI supply chain. According to Reuters’ reporting, Netlist is seeking a U.S. import ban on Micron memory and AI products that use it, including certain Broadcom products.
The dispute reaches beyond the memory supplier. Netlist announced its International Trade Commission complaint over two high-bandwidth-memory patents, seeking exclusion and cease-and-desist orders against Micron and named customers. Reuters reported that Broadcom did not immediately respond to a request for comment. These remain allegations; a requested import ban does not establish infringement.
