Nvidia Backed This AI Drug Startup. AbbVie Just Became a Partner Before Its IPO

AI drug discovery is about to get a public-market test with unusually recognizable backers. Iambic Therapeutics filed for a U.S. IPO on September 21 after raising money from NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA) and Qatar Investment Authority, and the same day announced a multi-year research collaboration with AbbVie Inc. (NYSE:ABBV). Iambic will use its AI platform to design small-molecule programs across immunology, neuroscience and oncology. The public-stock question is not whether Iambic becomes the next Nvidia. It is whether AI models can shorten an expensive part of pharma R&D enough to create measurable value for the chip supplier and the drug company at opposite ends of the workflow.
