Cisco is sliding 6% while its closest networking rivals barely flinch and the broader tech sector actually gains ground, and no company announcement explains why the stock is moving alone.
Cisco Systems (NASDAQ:CSCO | CSCO Price Prediction) stock is sliding through Tuesday’s session while the broader technology tape holds firm. Cisco stock is down 6% to $104.94, an outlier decline on a day when large-cap tech benchmarks are slightly higher.
The Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (NYSEARCA:XLK) is up 0.38% to $195.60, and the Invesco QQQ Trust (NASDAQ:QQQ) is up 0.52% to $745.32. That pairing points away from a sector-wide selloff and toward a company-specific reason for Cisco stock’s move.
Networking peers Arista Networks (NASDAQ:ANET) and Ciena (NASDAQ:CIEN) aren’t sinking like Cisco stock is today. Arista stock is down 0.5% to $204.33 while Ciena stock is up 0.4% to $367.29.
