Parallels has switched on support for Nutanix Prism inside Parallels RAS, letting administrators provision and manage virtual desktops and published apps on Nutanix infrastructure from one console instead of juggling several.
The announcement landed out of Austin, Texas on 8 September 2026. It reads like a routine partner update, and mostly it is. The interesting part is what’s underneath it.
Parallels’ own administrator documentation for RAS 21 lists Nutanix support in two flavours: Prism Element (AOS 6.10 LTS and AOS 7.3) and Prism Central (pc.7.3 and pc.7.5). It also carries a note that Nutanix is retiring Prism Element support in October 2026 and steering customers to Prism Central.
That puts a clock on it. Any Australian shop running Parallels RAS against a Nutanix cluster through Prism Element has about a month before the recommended path shifts underneath them.
What actually changed
The integration talks to Prism Central rather than individual clusters, which means template-based provisioning, cloning and scaling all get driven from a single control point.
Parallels is also plugging into the Nutanix v4 APIs, which matters more than it sounds. Nutanix has been telling developers for a while now that v1 and v2.0 (Prism Element) are deprecated and v3 users should plan a v4 migration, so anything still built on the old interfaces is on borrowed time.
