Newly Spotted Intel Arrow Lake-S, Arrow Lake-HX 24-Core, and Arrow Lake-H 16-Core CPUs Feature Significantly Increased Base Clock Speeds

Intel has been developing its Arrow Lake CPUs, with samples detected in S, HX, and H versions showing higher base clocks compared to Raptor Lake chips. The new Arrow Lake CPUs, including the 24-core “S” and “HX” SKUs, are expected to offer base clocks of up to 3.6 GHz. Despite Intel’s focus on the upcoming Lunar Lake launch for its “AI PC” efforts, details about the Arrow Lake chips have been slowly emerging, thanks to @InstLatX64.

Three new chips have been found on Intel’s test platforms, with log files revealing key information. The lineup includes a 24-core Arrow Lake-S part, a 24-core Arrow Lake-HX part, and a 16-core Arrow Lake-H part. What’s notable about these chips is their base clock speeds, which exceed those of previous generations. For example, the Arrow Lake-S with 24 cores and 24 threads boasts a base frequency of 3.6 GHz, marking an improvement over previous flagship CPUs like the Core i9-14900K.

Similarly, Arrow Lake-HX features a 3.0 GHz base clock speed, an increase over the Core i9-14900HX. Finally, the Arrow Lake-H SKU, a 16-core, 16-thread part, offers a base clock speed of up to 3.5 GHz, a significant improvement over the Core Ultra 9 185H. If these base clock speeds hold true, Intel’s new Arrow Lake CPUs are poised to offer higher performance than their predecessors while also being more power-efficient.

The new lineup of Arrow Lake CPUs is expected to compete with AMD’s Ryzen processors, with Intel aiming for clock speeds of up to 5.7 GHz. These high speeds would match AMD’s flagship Ryzen 9 9950X CPU, showcasing Intel’s efforts to push the boundaries of performance. Additionally, Intel’s Arrow Lake-S CPUs are anticipated to launch first in October, followed by mobile parts later in 2024 or early 2025. The desktop CPUs will be accompanied by new motherboards and a new socket, promising advancements in both performance and efficiency.

Overall, Intel’s Arrow Lake CPUs represent a significant step forward in terms of performance and efficiency, offering higher base clock speeds and improved power consumption compared to previous generations. With the unveiling of these new CPUs, Intel is poised to maintain its competitive edge in the CPU market and deliver enhanced computing experiences for users.
