Scale Computing has launched the SC//HyperCore Imaging Service, which lets organisations deploy its virtualisation software on qualified existing hardware.
The move targets IT teams facing hardware supply delays and tighter budgets while trying to complete virtualisation projects. Many organisations already own systems that meet the minimum requirements for SC//HyperCore software but have lacked a supported way to reuse them for deployment.
The service provides a fixed-cost path to prepare existing machines for use with the platform. It is designed to help buyers avoid long procurement cycles and defer spending on new infrastructure.
Virtualisation projects have come under pressure as companies reassess capital spending and contend with extended lead times for servers and related equipment. Across the sector, vendors have increasingly focused on migration offers and hardware reuse strategies as customers look for ways to extend the life of installed systems.
Scale Computing positions the imaging service as a way to repurpose hardware that already qualifies for SC//HyperCore, presenting it as an alternative to what it describes as forced refresh cycles tied to some traditional virtualisation products.
