Google May Still Be Hiding Secrets About Android 15

The latest Android 15 beta is revealing potential new features and changes within Google’s code, shedding light on what may be coming in the next operating system update. Even though Android 15 Beta 3 has reached “platform stability,” Google is still working on enhancements. Mishaal Rahman’s research points to a revamped settings menu, a device diagnostics feature, and an adaptive thermal function.

The reworked settings menu aims to group similar items together, similar to Samsung’s One UI and Apple’s iOS, making it easier for users to navigate. The adaptive thermal function is designed to alert users when their device is overheating and take actions to cool it down, such as notifying the user to take action or overclocking the CPU to maintain optimal performance. The feature will monitor the battery temperature every five minutes and notify the user if the phone needs to be shutdown to protect its components.

Device diagnostics will allow users to check their device’s performance and components, including storage and battery status. An Evaluation Mode will run tests and generate a report for connected devices, providing users with the ability to diagnose and potentially fix hardware issues themselves.

While these new features may not be guaranteed for the public release of Android 15, the revamped settings menu is one to look out for. The potential changes could streamline user experience and improve functionality.
