oracle The company is entering the final phase of its largest-ever workforce reduction. Thousands of employees are expected to leave the company between June 1st and 15th. This is part of a restructuring that is expected to affect around 30,000 employees worldwide.
The job cuts, first reported by Tech Times, are notable because they come at a time of strong business growth. Just a few weeks before the final separation dates approached, oracle reported double-digit revenue growth, rising cloud demand and rapid expansion of its artificial intelligence businesses.
The departures are expected to amount to approximately 18% of Oracle’s global workforcemaking the program one of the largest layoffs currently underway in the tech sector.
