About halfway through our interview, Ben Thompson, the founder of the $2 billion human resources technology company Employment Hero, casually mentions that his new artificial intelligence tool interviews about 1,000 candidates per week for jobs.
Employment Hero is designed as a one-stop human resources, payroll, hiring and employee benefits payment platform, primarily for small and medium-sized businesses that do not have an in-house legal or human resources department. Nearly 15 percent of the country’s privately employed workforce – or 2.5 million employees – are now paid through the platform.
