On May 9th at 5:20 p.m., Donald Trump posted to his 12.6 million Truth Social followers a picture of himself standing on the deck of a boat and looking through binoculars at burning warships. The image was generated using AI.

Nine seconds later came another: a cartoon of Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker surrounded by stacks of fast food with the caption: “JB is too busy protecting Chicago!”
