The Australian Writers’ Guild has received reports of production companies using AI technology to take notes in writers’ rooms, replacing human note-takers.
AWG, which is currently working with Screenworks on a training initiative, sees note-taking as a way to get started.
“Note-taking allows a new writer to contribute to a show and learn from experienced writers. It is a way to write that crucial first script. Automated note-taking risks eliminating one of the few possible entry points into the industry still available to aspiring writers,” AWG said in a statement to its members.
