The government is using AI to help with purchases, but humans still have the final say

For just $1,000 in AI tokens, the Digital Transformation Agency accomplished what previously took 18 months and up to 40 employees: assessing more than 3,000 companies vying for lucrative government technology contracts.

The test, which lasted just 7½ hours, means the agency can now open the government-wide panel to IT consulting and employment firms more frequently, says chief executive Chris Fechner.
