Hewlett Packard Enterprise Introduces Enhanced Virtualization Features for Increased Simplicity, Performance, and Faster Time-to-Value with Reduced Risks

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has expanded its hybrid cloud offering by introducing virtualization capabilities for HPE Private Cloud. This new technology combines an open source virtual machine system with HPE’s cluster orchestration software to provide high performance and availability for enterprise workloads. The virtualization clusters are managed through a cloud-based control plane, eliminating the need for on-premises management and remaining highly available even when disconnected from the cloud.

HPE’s Chief Operating Officer for Hybrid Cloud, Hang Tan, emphasized the importance of adopting a ‘hybrid by design’ approach to achieve the promise of hybrid cloud. The addition of virtualization technology to HPE’s offerings aims to provide a unified, platform-based cloud operating model that offers flexibility, control, and freedom from blockages. The HPE GreenLake Cloud is positioned as the future-proof destination for enterprises seeking a comprehensive hybrid cloud solution.

The HPE virtualization capability is integrated with HPE Private Cloud, providing an intuitive management experience, data protection, and automated lifecycle management. Clients can benefit from HPE’s core compute, networking, and storage capabilities along with automated operations, two-click VM provisioning, data protection, and lifecycle management. Furthermore, HPE Alletra Storage MP platform offers high performance and efficient data reduction, with data replication extending to the public cloud.

HPE Private Cloud supports virtualized workloads, cloud-native and AI workloads, and offers native integration with HPE hybrid cloud services such as data protection and AI-powered IT operations management. The platform also supports leading third-party integrations and is managed through the HPE GreenLake Cloud under a unified cloud management model.

HPE is the first vendor to offer a complete set of hybrid cloud capabilities across modular private cloud infrastructure, network virtualization, data mobility, various runtimes, and AI frameworks. By integrating HPE’s capabilities with third-party support, the company aims to minimize technological and operational risks for customers seeking a comprehensive hybrid cloud solution.

Companies adopting HPE Private Cloud can achieve savings of up to five times the total cost of ownership by following a three-step “hybrid by design” approach: optimize, modernize, and simplify. The virtualization capability was introduced at HPE Discover 2024 and is expected to launch as part of the HPE Private Cloud Business Edition in the second half of 2024. Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is a global edge-to-cloud company that delivers open and intelligent technology solutions to help organizations unlock value from their data.
