The highly anticipated sequel to the 2006 classic dominated the box office this weekend as the original cast returned to the story of the fictional Runway magazine 20 years later.
A clip from the new film shows a series of internet memes denigrating editor-in-chief Miranda Priestley, played by Meryl Streep, including one about Priestley as a fast food worker that reads: “Are you trying to tell a few lies?”
The meme, which appeared on screen for only a brief moment, struck many viewers as an intentional display of AI bullshit, part of the film’s satire of the modern state of media.
