An Australian driver had an AI-generated traffic fine overturned by using a mobile phone holder.
The driver was fined $410 and provided with photos of the alleged violation by an AI-powered mobile camera on the Pacific Highway near Byron Bay.
However, they were able to prove that the phone was in a holder attached to the steering wheel and that they had not touched it at the time of the crime.

The driver’s lawyer, Avinash Singh of Astor Legal, said the government’s own photo proves the driver did not touch the phone.
“The judge accepted our arguments that the prosecution could not prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the defendant touched the phone and even if he did, it was in a holder,” Singh said.
