Millions of Android users could be getting up to $100 in a new $135 million class-action Google settlement.
Around 100 million users will be eligible to receive payment, but whether you’re included will depend on certain factors.
The settlement comes from a case known as Taylor v. Google LLC, which was filed in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California and accused Google of transferring user information to the company using its Android operating system – without the user’s permission. The suit also stated that transfers consumed users’ cellular data and occurred in the background, without any notice to the user, “including when the devices are in a completely idle state.”
Google denied any wrongdoing in connection with the lawsuit.
