April 17, 2026 — oracle announced this Mizuho Bank, Ltd.one of Japan’s leading global financial institutions, has chosen Oracle Autonomous AI Database on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) to modernize its IT infrastructure. By migrating to Oracle Autonomous AI Database while maintaining the existing application environment, Mizuho Bank was able to reduce operational overhead, optimize costs and increase security.
Founded in 2002, Mizuho Bank is one of Japan’s largest banks, offering a wide range of banking and financial services and operating around 50 applications, including information and market systems, excluding core banking and settlement systems, on a common platform with 20 databases. As demand continued to grow and platform operations became more complex, routine patching, maintenance, and recurring hardware refresh cycles needed to be performed.
