Even though Asha Sharma has been very active in making improvements for Xbox fans over the past few weeks, we still haven’t seen her speak publicly on camera as Xbox boss — or at least, not until a GDC vlog went live over the weekend.
A YouTuber known as Mr. Wright Way was in attendance at GDC 2026 back in March, and while speaking to Phil Spencer about his retirement from Xbox, he happened to bump into new Xbox boss and Microsoft Gaming CEO Asha Sharma at the same time, prompting her first on-camera appearance for Xbox (at least that we know about!).
The exchange is a sweet one, with the vlogger wishing Sharma all the best in her role, and also questioning Spencer about his retirement plans. Sharma enthuses about how she’s excited to attend her first GDC, while also joking that Spencer will spend his retirement snowboarding – which he concurs with!
Of course, even though this is our first on-camera sighting of Asha…
