ChatGPT maker OpenAI says employers should consider trying a four-day week as the use and demand of AI in the workplace increases.
Its human-first policy proposals lay out a range of ideas to help society adapt to an AI era – something it says will bring benefits but also disruption to our lives and careers.
His proposals included creating more job opportunities in community-focused areas such as childcare, education and healthcare.
The company said its initial ideas, aimed primarily at the U.S., were aimed at sparking discussions about actions needed as AI systems become more powerful.
The rapid reduction in the time it takes AI tools to complete some tasks means a transition to advanced AI is on the horizon, OpenAI said in its report “Industrial Policy for the Intelligence Age.”
“If progress continues, we can expect systems to be able to complete projects that currently take humans months to complete,” she added.
