“Windows update broke our system” is a common enough complaint Microsoft’s enterprise support teams hear all the time, especially from corporate customers right after Patch Tuesday. And given Windows 11’s reputation, it’s easy to see why updates are the first thing that gets blamed.
A recent 2026 report by Omnissa only adds to that perception, showing that Windows environments experience significantly more app crashes and forced shutdowns compared to macOS. System stability directly affects productivity in enterprise environments, and such data makes Windows updates look like the obvious culprit.
