<span>HISTORY: :: Oracle</span><span>Cloud computing company Oracle is laying off thousands of employees.</span><span>That’s according to reports from CNBC on Tuesday, citing two people familiar with the matter.</span><span>In a statement the company filed the same day, it said it would lay off nearly 500 employees in Washington state starting in June. </span><span>The company said the job cuts were part of a “workforce reduction and other layoffs,” adding that its Seattle locations will remain open.</span><span>Oracle declined to comment on the CNBC report.</span><span>Several posts were seen on social media platforms sharing details of the possible cuts, causing uncertainty and confusion among employees.</span><span>The company employed approximately 162,000 full-time employees worldwide as of May 2025.</span><span>:: Oracle</span><span>Now layoffs are happening as Oracle increases its spending on AI infrastructure.</span><span>The company’s shares closed about 6% higher but remain down about 25% this year.</span><span>Figures from website Layoffs.fyi show that more than 70 technology companies have made cuts…</span>
