I asked AI about God. Instead I was asked about myself

I remember my very first online search in 2001: “What is the meaning of life?”

I remember clicking on a mysterious minimal website that told me that all points of consciousness were facets of the Divine wanting to perceive itself.

This amazing idea that I discovered through Internet Explorer touched me deeply. Given the developments in AI, it makes sense to go back to my old search and look for new answers.

My editor fed ChatGPT the collected wisdom of humanity just for me. The goal: to find an answer to the ultimate question of why we are here. I don’t belong to any faith, but I find beauty in many spiritual paths. If the truth is in fragments of everyone, this is our best chance of knowing it. I’m strangely nervous.
