A tip from Google to a national watchdog group led to the investigation that found hundreds of images of child abuse materials on the man’s computer, authorities say.
An Uxbridge man was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison after authorities said Google detected and reported child sexual abuse material in the man’s online account.
Scott Morrill, 52, was sentenced in federal court in Worcester to 10 years in prison, followed by 15 years of supervised release, according to a statement from Massachusetts U.S. Attorney Leah Foley’s office.
Morrill was arrested and charged in April 2025 after investigators searched his home and found a laptop containing images and videos of child sexual abuse material, according to charging documents.
