Google seems to do it have a Google addiction. When you click on a hyperlink in Google’s AI Mode chatbot-like search tool, you’re likely to be redirected to another Google search, according to new research from SE Ranking, a search engine optimization company. Currently, Google.com is the most linked website in AI mode.
Many website owners and publishers rely heavily on Google Search as their primary source of traffic and have complained about traffic declines in recent years as the tech giant has prominently featured generative AI summaries in search results through AI Overviews and AI Mode. Liz Reid, head of Google search, has previously disputed reports of traffic declines, describing AI tools as driving “high-quality clicks” to these sites.
