Nscale, a British company crucial to the government’s AI ambitions, has raised $2 billion (£1.5 billion) in a funding round and appointed former Meta executives Sheryl Sandberg and Nick Clegg to its board.
That brings the London-based startup, backed by U.S. tech firm Nvidia, to $14.6 billion, it said in a statement, and follows a $1.1 billion funding round the company raised last September.
Clegg, the former deputy prime minister of the United Kingdom, “brings deep expertise at the intersection of technology, policy and global affairs,” the company said, and is “at the heart of the most consequential regulatory and governance conversations shaping the future of AI.”
Sandberg, Meta’s former chief operating officer, brings “unmatched experience in scaling the world’s most influential technology companies,” it said.
