Researchers have developed a method that allows large language models (LLMs) to remove anonymity from pseudonymous online accounts at scale for just $1.41 per target, using commercially available APIs for the AI systems.
The researchers have shown that the assumption that online identities are protected through pseudonymity is no longer particularly robust, since the AI tools can quickly and inexpensively identify users based on their contributions.
