Reddit is stopping the AI flood
Reddit (RDDT) reported earlier this month, beating expectations for the fourth quarter with earnings per share of $1.24 versus forecast of $0.94 and revenue of $726 million versus $665 million. Part of this growth is related to the fact that the site does not allow artificial intelligence (AI) generated content. “The internet has become a place where the authenticity may no longer be quite as human, which may have been the original promise… but Reddit has preserved that,” said Jen Wong, chief operating officer BBC.
ByteDance under fire for AI video tool
ByteDance is rushing to add protections to Seedance 2.0, the latest version of its AI video tool, after Disney (DIS) and Paramount Skydance (PSKY) sent warning letters alleging copyright infringement. Studios claim that users created AI videos featuring characters such as Spider-Man, Darth Vader and SpongeBob, with Disney accusing ByteDance of treating its IP as “free public domain clip art.” Ars Technicareported.
