India is hosting an artificial intelligence summit this week bringing together heads of state and technology executives, with topical issues on the agenda including labor disruption and child safety.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will open the five-day AI Impact Summit in New Delhi on Monday afternoon, which aims to unveil a “common roadmap for global AI governance and collaboration.”

“This occasion is further evidence that our country is making rapid progress in the field of science and technology,” and it “shows the prowess of our country’s youth,” he said in an X post on Monday.
