U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has been kidnapping thousands of people a day at the Trump administration’s orders and has recently conducted sweeping raids in heavily Democratic cities. There have been escalated operations in Minneapolis in which two Americans were killed by federal agents this month. And even though the deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti shocked the nation and fueled opposition to ICE, the agency continues to detain anyone it believes is undocumented. Although the government insists it is targeting criminals who are in the country illegally, this largely untrained and unskilled mercenary force takes in migrants without prior arrest as well as legal U.S. citizens.
ICE is anything but transparent about their haphazard work on the streets and the way they select their targets. The agency’s missions seem to revolve around everything from trending topics in the right-wing media ecosystem (the increasing aggression…)
