Investors hit the brakes while a lawsuit against bondholders accused Oracle of failing to disclose how much additional debt it would take on to finance an AI expansion related to its OpenAI deal. According to the lawsuit, investors secured $18 billion in Oracle notes and bonds on Sept. 25 — two weeks after Oracle unveiled its $300 billion, five-year OpenAI contract — before the company later applied for $38 billion in loans to build two data centers. Oracle declined to comment. When the lawsuit was filed, shares fell about 5%. The company reportedly had about $108 billion in outstanding notes and loans as of November, according to the complaint.
