TAIPEI/HONG KONG/PALO ALTO — China is working to set rules on how many advanced AI chips companies can buy from foreign makers like Nvidia, Nikkei Asia has learned, as Beijing attempts to balance its desire to foster domestic chip development with Chinese tech giants’ demand for the world’s most advanced hardware.
