Anthropic is planning a $10 billion fundraising campaign that would value chatbot maker Claude at $350 billion, according to multiple reports published Wednesday.
According to CNBC, which reported that the company had signed a term sheet setting the amount at $350 billion, the new valuation represents a nearly double increase from about four months ago. The round could close within a few weeks, although the size and terms could change. According to the Wall Street Journal, Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund GIC and Coatue Management plan to lead the financing.
The insatiable demand for AI and increasing adoption in enterprises has boosted technology spending worldwide and pushed valuations of AI startups like Anthropic to record levels, despite concerns about an AI bubble. OpenAI was valued at $500 billion.
