The U.S. Department of Energy is investing $1 billion in two new artificial intelligence supercomputers (Discovery and Lux) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory to strengthen U.S. leadership in science and technology.
Built with AMD and HPE technologies, Discovery will scale computing to exascale with next-generation AMD EPYC CPUs and Instinct GPUs, driving advances in energy, medicine and aerospace.
Lux, on the other hand, leverages OCI and will be an artificial intelligence factory for science and national security.
