LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY)– Microsoft is one of the most impersonated companies in phishing attacks by scammers.
Con-artists are mimicking Microsoft to trick you into logging into your Microsoft 365 account, so they can access your username and password.
Brielle Blanchard, Interim CEO at the Better Business Bureau of Acadiana, said once scammers are in your account, they steal data, plant malware and launch more attacks from your compromised account.
“The scam has been tracked in 90 countries,” Blanchard said. “And about 76% of the attacks are in the US.”
